Right now, it feels as though things are frozen, and it’s unclear when all this will end. With so much up in the air, it raises so many questions about how to push forward in this moment to keep your business moving forward.
How do you take action right now?
Tip #1: Dive into LinkedIn
Since you’re not able to connect with people in person, use this time to leverage yourself on LinkedIn. Whether you reach out to people you already know or you make new connections, using LinkedIn to help build your network is essential to growing your business.
Remember, right now everyone is living through the same situation and everyone is eager for connection and getting back to some semblance of normalcy. Therefore, people are ready to build on new relationships and create new ones. People are longing for interaction.
Spend 15 to 20 minutes every day reaching out to people with a simple message to get conversations going. Offer virtual coffee meetups. And, follow up with the connections you’ve made.
Tip #2: Connect via Facebook
Similar to building connections via LinkedIn, do the same thing on Facebook. With these two social media platforms, you have access to a huge network of people that want to seek out new interactions.
Go through your Friends list and send people that you haven’t talked to in a while a simple message. Say something like: “Hey, just want to check in and see how things are going for you. I know we haven’t spoken in a while, but I want to offer to sit down and have a virtual coffee. Do you want to chat again?” This simple message can bud into a valuable relationship that helps move your business forward.
Tip #3: Create Facebook Live Videos
With everyone stuck at home, people are frequently on social media; therefore, you have an audience waiting for you. Use live videos to showcase your expertise and provide content for people. Connect with people by giving them information about you and your business. Give them relevant, helpful tips and teach them something.
Those of you who are used to doing live events, live videos gives you a platform to continue what you’re comfortable doing. Use the resources available to you to adapt to the situation, generate interest, and build your business.
Tip #4: Use Zoom…or other Video Chat Platforms
For personal interactions, make Zoom your go-to. It’s not only free, but it’s fast, easy, and a great way to generate personal connections. If for some reason, Zoom is slow, use Skype, Google Hangouts, or Facebook video chat. The point is to have a face-to-face conversation. Connect with someone visually rather than through a phone call. It provides people with the connection they desire and more personal interaction.
Just because the world has slowed down doesn’t mean your business has to. In fact, you can find innovative ways to inspire interest from your ideal clients and move your business forward.
